Following our delegation's unequivocal acceptance of the invitation to participate in the Geneva talks aimed at ending the hostilities in Sudan, with international and regional stakeholders present, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its extremist allies from the former regime have escalated their relentless airstrikes against civilians.

Over the past 48 hours, these calculated and savage attacks have intensified, resulting in the loss of innocent lives and the widespread destruction of critical public infrastructure and essential facilities across our country.

Yesterday, the SAF unleashed aerial bombardments on the cities of Al-Kuma, Kabkabiya, Al-Fasher, Babanoosa, Khartoum, Al-Geneina, and Morni in North and West Darfur states. Today, the onslaught continued with indiscriminate airstrikes on Um Banin, Beka, and Karkoj in Sennar, as well as Jebel Amir in North Darfur.

These heinous assaults on residential areas have led to the deaths of hundreds of civilians, including women and children, with many more grievously injured.

The destruction is catastrophic, as homes and public facilities have been reduced to rubble in the wake of the former regime’s scorched-earth policy. SAF warplanes have intentionally targeted much-needed public infrastructure, terrorizing the populace by dropping barrel bombs and launching missiles indiscriminately into civilian areas where our forces are not present.

Under the direction of its jihadist handlers from the former regime, the SAF has ruthlessly obliterated vital facilities and mercilessly slaughtered innocent civilians following humiliating losses to our courageous forces. These heinous acts of aggression represent a desperate attempt to derail peace efforts and mask the catastrophic diplomatic and military failures that have come to define the campaign of these corrupt criminals, who are driven by the extremist ideology of the terrorist Islamic Movement.

The people of Sudan are acutely aware of the true motives of this band of terrorists, who seek to prolong this war. We will leave these criminals with no choice but to capitulate. Their coordinated efforts at deception will never obscure their egregious crimes against the Sudanese people.

We assure our nation that our valiant forces continue to advance with unyielding determination and confidence on the battlefield. We remain committed to all sincere initiatives to cease hostilities and transition our country to the status it rightfully deserves — one that upholds the rights of the people within a civilian-led democratic government grounded in the principles of fair citizenship, with a unified national army loyal to our citizens.
